Crystal Lake Laser Removal
Permanent Makeup Removal

How it works

Semi-permanent makeup removal involves using laser technology to address unwanted cosmetic tattoos. Here’s how it works:
-
Similar to laser tattoo removal, the process begins by using a specialised laser. This laser emits short pulses of energy.
-
The laser is directed at the semi-permanent makeup (such as microblading or lip liner) that has been tattooed into the skin. The goal is to break down the colour pigments within the tattoo.
-
The laser energy is absorbed by the ink, causing the pigments to break down into smaller particles. These smaller particles are easier for the body to process.
-
Over time, the body’s natural processes come into play. White blood cells help remove the broken-down pigment particles. The body gradually eliminates them.
How effective is this treatment?
This laser procedure is very successful in eliminating cool brown and black pigments.
One of the issues with PMU removal is that pigments that have been mixed with a white base can be impossible to remove. This is because the white pigment base is known to be Titanium Dioxide, which is used mostly in lip pigments giving the tattoo a brighter and intense appearance. However, when the laser hits the component, this can cause a chemical reaction that can turn the Titanium Dioxide from white to its original state which is dark grey in colour. This is why a patch test is always required before a full treatment is given. This process is not a quick fix and could take months to see the results you want.

How many treatments are needed?
The number of sessions required for optimal results may vary depending on several factors, including the client's pigment saturation, the number of-ups performed, the degree of pigment fading, and the pigment colour. Typically, clients will require between 2 to 6 sessions to achieve maximum results. It's important to note that this process is not a quick fix and may take several months to achieve the desired outcome. Furthermore, there must be a 6 to 8 week interval between each session.

Risks
For the first 24-72 hours after the treatment has been carried out, you may have erythema, inflammation and in some instances clients may suffer with bruising around the area.
clients need to be made aware that not all laser devices are safe for darker skin as this can cause hypopigmentation. This treatment will only be suitable for clients with Fitzpatrick's I to IV.

Consultation
All clients that are interested in having this treatment, will need to attend a consultation to go the through a medical checklist and must have a test patch to make sure they are suitable for treatment. Skin types I -III can return 24/48 hrs for a further review of there test patches and if there were no adverse reactions the full treatment can then be carried out. However, skin type IV will need to wait 10-14 days after having a test patch carried out, before booking in for a full treatment.

Price
Test patch - £20 (this amount will be deducted if the client is suitable for treatment and books in a full session)
2 sessions - £150
4 sessions - £250
6 sessions - £350
ATTENTION: Laser permanent makeup removal can only be carried out on cosmetic tattoos that are at least 6 months old. Otherwise, the pigment intensity can cause the laser to damage the skin. Additionally, patients that have injectable treatments such as Botulinum toxin or fillers have to be notified that laser treatments may damage the biological materials.
